Learning More About Investing: Additional Resources
If you want to improve your tennis game, you take lessons. If you're a klutz who wants to waltz, you go to dance classes. If you want to become a better investor, what can you do? Not everyone has the time, money, or inclination to go to business school.
Taking time to read the other articles on this site is the first step in getting a solid financial education. But there are plenty of places to turn to once you've graduated from our financial high school. One option is to continue on to Morningstar University, where you'll find educational stories on everything from mutual funds and stocks and how-to stories on topics such as improving your portfolio and dealing with taxes.
Of course, our Web site isn't the only one out there with information. Most major financial publications also have useful Web sites, as do many mutual-fund companies. For tax questions, you can visit the IRS' Web site at www.irs.gov.
There are also plenty of old-fashioned books, ranging from basic introductions to more advanced writings on finance. Morningstar University runs regular reviews of the latest investment books. We also have a series of reading lists, including One Year to a Better Investment Mind.
Finally, if you have specific investment questions, you can post them to Morningstar.Com's Conversations area. Morningstar analysts and editors, and other investors will answer your questions.
